Allan Argus

Allan Argus grew up in and around prison camps where his father worked. This remarkable life has made his writing something to behold. When asked to write about himself, he replied with:

Allan Argus was thought of as a daydreamer in school and a mediocre student. When called upon at story-telling time, he improvised graphic horror tales of school bus crashes which amused his fellow students and disturbed his teachers. Because of a mystical experience with a vacuum sweeper when ten, he has always looked upon such machines with awe and trepidation. At various times in his life, he has had a variety of childhood diseases, a dog, a job, a car, and a girlfriend. He has experienced states of euphoria and suffered occasional confusion and depression. Growing up, his best friends were black convicts who taught him funny card games, a hip outlook and a few bad habits. By the time he was in the seventh grade he had lived in seven separate locals. For reasons unclear to the author himself, he never acquired the ambition most healthy-minded Americans prize. In college he learned to drink, in the armed forces he explored Paris. He has worked in greenhouses and suitcase factories, delivered sprockets and swept floors, though in more recent times he has been able to avoid wage-paid work. In the sixties and seventies he authored more than one hundred and fifty erotic novels, some of which may still be in print in Yugoslavia and Belorussia. That writing experience further distorted his frame of reference though generally he is an amiable sort who avoids suffering in public. He lives in a rural area in New Mexico and subsists solely on fruits, vegetables and a modicum of home made beer.

See what we mean? We're hoping Allan will grace us with more of his gift.
