Poem 1:
You have given me your Heart And your words have surrounded me in your
love...
Why do I sometimes become afraid that you will unwrap me and take it all
back?...
Is it the distance...
space...
time...
years between us...
too
great and too far to span?...
My
insecurities stem not so much from fear of losing your love, but losing you
from my life...
fear that someone
nearer will tempt you and fill the void...
give you, if even only
temporarily, what is my desire to give...
and that you will allow yourself to be swept into a riptide of passion and
lose sight of the shore and me...
Poem 2:
My heart went in search of an Island...
But I found instead, your world...
One filled with estuaries of Peace...
Love...
Desire...
and Hope into
which I was
invited warmly...
And bid to stay...
How very promising the future now
seems because you are
in that future...
And because you love me...
Poem 3:
You are a part of the fabric of my soul...
Together we weave a vibrant
tapestry...
Reflecting the vistas of the past...
The pageantry of the present...
The panorama of the future...
Poem 4:
Before Dusk...
Twilight of the Gods...
You and I stood on that serene
point where ocean and land join...
solitary observers of their pageant...
You poured two glasses of wine,
wrapped your arms around me, shielding me
from the chill of the wind and the spray of the ocean as we toasted Old Sol
on his crimson journey home across the horizon...
You promised me a most spectacular sunset...
Do you always keep your
promises?...
Poem 5:
I look at you now through older, wiser eyes, recalling from the memoires of
my heart, the youth who
captivated me so very long ago and kept my soul spellbound...
My love
tethered throughout those years
that distanced us one from the other...
And in his stead, I today find a
man...
My heart still captivated...
My love still tethered...
