The Writer's Gallery Awards

The Writer's Gallery Awards

The Editors of The Writer's Gallery are proud to announce our second annual Writer's Gallery Awards for 1997 (Note: No awards will be given in 1998 due to our low editor count throughout the year. We may revisit 1998 submittals in combination with 1999).

The objective was to single out those authors who have either shown a professional level of skill, or an admirable improvement. An author winning an award may have fired our imagination or simply earned our respect.

Nominations from the editors will took place in February 1997, however the reviews and choices were not completed until July 1997.

The categories are, by intent, nearly random. We elect to nominate work for its merit, rather than force ourselves to have specific categories. Also, we nominate, no one else. This is so we do not add yet another burden upon ourselves, such as solicting, counting and summarizing votes from the vast realms of the Internet. Perhaps next year we will have come up with some kind of voting system and can open the vote up at that time. For now, we are the nominators, and the voters, and that is that!

This year, we have nominated everyone who has been published on The Writer's Gallery, since February 29, 1996 and before July 1, 1997.

Some pieces were already ahead in the running for next year's awards...you will see the WOW! symbol indicating we are extremely impressed.
