Dedication
In memory of Dr. Ricardo Sanchez.
I wish I had let you know before you left this world how much you influenced and
affected my life. A Taste of Paradise has evolved from that twenty five page
chapbook I wrote for your poetry class into something I think is amazing .. simply
because it had one of your helping hands in its creation. I don't think any of these
poems could exist if you had not breathed that special kind of magic of yours into me.
Through this manuscript, and in all of my poems, that spark you passed into me will
spread and grow into everyone who reads, and understands in my words, what makes
life so very special, and why those of us who feel we need to write, resign ourselves to
this arduous undertaking.
